Key benefits

Apply the data in your GRANTA MI database to provide information to support materials decisions—help to increase quality, innovate, save time, and reduce risk.

Reports are available when and where you need them—via the MI:Viewer web browser user interface or within CAD or PLM via MI:Materials Gateway.

GRANTA MI:Reports

GRANTA MI:Reports technology applies data stored in a GRANTA MI database to generate standard reports or interactive dashboards that can inform your materials decision-making.

Choose report bundles to meet your needs, or select one of two standard GRANTA MI packages:

Package Description rEPORTS INCLUDED
MI:Restricted Substances Add your company's material and substance data, enabling in-depth analysis of restricted substance risk Bill of Materials and Restricted Substances (using reference and proprietary data)
MI:Product Intelligence Fast, integrated analysis of 'Bills of Materials' using Granta's authoritative reference data All (using Granta reference data)

Reports can be run within CAD and PLM systems through MI:Materials Gateway, or within the MI:BoM Analyzer web application.

Bill of Materials Report

Analyzes a Bill of Materials and provides a summary of your materials assignments and a mass roll-up (it uses the material assignment and density data to report on the mass of parts and assemblies). You can interactively assess product weight during design.

Restricted Substances Report Bundle

A range of reports providing you with information to assess restricted substance risk.

Obsolescence Risk Report Identify substances in a Bill of Materials (or used in related manufacturing processes) that are at risk of becoming obsolete. Includes surface treatment specifications. Use Granta material and specification data and self-sourced declaration data to fill gaps in supplier data.
Preferred Materials Report * Control the materials being used in new product designs to ensure only compliant and low risk materials are used. Includes the ability to tailor preferred materials lists to your company's programs and projects.
REACH Article 33 Report Meet the requirements of Article 33 of the European Union's REACH regulations, which requires that organizations provide a report on any substances of very high concern (SVHCs) used in an article within 45 days of request.
Substances to Specifications Report
New in Version 9
Identify materials containing particular chemicals
Identify which materials, coatings, or specifications contain particular chemical substances, and assess exposure to compliance obligations—very useful for assessing risk in your product portfolio or design process.
Customer / Industry List Report * Create a Bill of Materials declaration in Excel format against any legislation or list in the database. Very useful for making a declaration against a specific customer or industry list.

* Asterisked reports are only available for MI:Restricted Substances implementations that use proprietary data.

Eco Audit Report Bundle

These reports take the Bill of Materials for a design or product and assess the energy-use and carbon dioxide emissions throughout the product lifecycle.

The reports are built on Granta's Eco Audit™ technology, drawing on comprehensive eco property reference data. Clear outputs enable you to 'drill in' to the data, investigating the environmental impact of specific parts and materials.

Quickly report on environmental issues to guide decision making. Consider the sustainability of a product across the different stages of its life-cycle. Identify the right strategy to minimize environmental impact.

Critical Materials Report

This report applies the data in the Granta Critical Materials data module to perform an assessment of materials supply risks and to support you in taking mitigating action. You can quickly flag up materials in your portfolio, or in a specific Bill of Materials, that have an identified risk associated with geopolitical factors, physical scarcity, conflict minerals (e.g., those covered by the US Dodd-Frank Act), or price volatility. You can then use the system to find materials with similar properties but lower supply risk.

Material Circularity Indicator Report

A prototype report resulting from the Life+ collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, this provides an innovative new way to measure resource efficiency and embed 'Circular Economy' thinking into product design. Currently available on a trial basis.
