The ANSYS 2019 R2 software release delivers the first product to take advantage of the recent acquisition of Granta Design by ANSYS.

The new GRANTA Materials Data for Simulation dataset is embedded into the ANSYS Mechanical software. It offers easy access to the material property data needed for structural analysis and covers many important materials classes. You will save the time wasted searching for and converting data, and have greater confidence in your simulation inputs.

The new dataset combines information from a number of different sources within the comprehensive Granta Materials Data Library, ensuring coverage of important materials classes, particularly metals and plastics. The first release offers over 600 datasheets with a focus on mechanical and thermal properties to support simulation – including temperature-dependent properties for many materials. Future releases will extend coverage of materials, properties, and supported simulation domains.
