Engaging students and showing them the value of learning about materials.
Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes are essential for any designer; whether they are designing the must-have consumer product or the latest high-tech component. Well-designed products provide both function and satisfaction. Designers and Engineers need to appreciate each other’s work, and be able to communicate, in order to work well together.
This database aims to engage students of both Engineering and Design in learning about materials, through a product-centered, visually inspiring, interactive database that provides information on how and from what products are made.
