WorkshopWhether you already use CES EduPack in your teaching, or have heard about the resources and would like to know more, take a trip to Arizona and participate in our workshop to discover CES EduPack and contribute to its future development. From simple examples to engage introductory materials and engineering students, to applied design projects using visual, interactive and systematic material selection methodology, the interactive sessions will inspire your teaching.

Discover the basics of systematic materials selection methodology, teaching transferable skills to your students. Including hands-on exercises.

Delve deeper into material selection methodology by examining an advance industrial case study.
2:15 PM Eco-Design and the Eco Audit Tool: introducing students to life-cycle thinking

About the presenters

Luca Masi, Granta Design

Luca is an aerospace engineer leading university-related activities in the Americas for Granta Design. He has run materials selection short courses at universities (Georgia Institute of Technology, Northwestern University, Boston University, University of California, Irvine) and conferences (TMS, MS&T, ASEE). Before joining Granta, he has collaborated with the French Space Agency on software development for bio-inspired space trajectory optimization, and on computational techniques for multi-objective optimization as part of his Ph.D. at the Advanced Space Concepts Laboratory, University of Strathclyde (United Kingdom). He authored several peer-reviewed publications and book chapters for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) on these subjects. He also has R&D industrial experience in spacecraft propulsion systems. Masi holds a master’s degree (first class) in space engineering and a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Pisa (Italy).

Dr. Bridget Ogwezi, Granta Design

Bridget is part of the team working with universities in the USA, supporting the use of CES EduPack. She holds a B.Eng in Civil Engineering from the University of Surrey. She also holds an Engineering Doctorate from the Technologies for a Sustainable Built Environment Centre at the University of Reading, UK. Her research involved the innovative use of hybrid materials for sustainable design. She has worked with BuroHappold Engineering Facades, assisting in thermal analysis to improve building designs.
