Case Study: Electric Appliances

"Sustainable development" is a relative term: it is development that moves us from the present state towards a more nearly sustainable state. This case study compares the environmental, economic and social aspects of a local choice: that of hand dryers for the washrooms of a small company. The alternatives - cloth towel, paper towel, slow electric dryer, fast electric dryer - are compared and the reaction of stakeholders (the employees of the company) are explored, using the 5-step method described from Ashby et al., 2015.
