Applying coupling lines – Designs with multiple constraints

For many components, failure can occur by more than one mechanism. For example, a rod loaded in compression can fail by direct compressive failure of the material or by localized buckling, with the actual failure mode being dependent on both the component geometry and the choice of material. This session explains how you can use coupling lines to consider both failure modes and identify optimal solutions.
