| 10.25am | Guest speaker—Darren Green, Rolls-Royce 'Materials Information—Challenges and Opportunities’ Darren Green is Chief of Materials—Design Services, Engineering Systems & Services at Rolls-Royce. His talk will focus on the drive towards continuous improvement in materials data quality and access for power systems and services. It will also address areas such as global data sharing , developing the use of industry standard solutions along with IT database solutions. |

| 10.55am | Round table discussion: How is materials information used in industry? Identifying the key materials information problems faced by participants (and by industry in general)—this session will provide context for the following case studies and make sure that these are tailored to the interests of the delegates. |

| 11.40pm | Materials information management Presentation and interactive demonstration. How can materials information be managed efficiently and applied effectively? Insights into: management of in-house test data, efficient access to materials reference data, and how data can be deployed for use in engineering software (e.g., CAD, CAE, FEA). |

| 12.20pm | Materials decision support tools: selection, substitution, cost, and more Presentation and interactive demonstration. How can we apply the available materials information to make better materials decisions? For example, how do we select materials or identify substitute materials, combining considerations such as engineering performance, cost, regulatory constraints, and eco impact? |

| 1pm | LUNCH & INFORMAL DISCUSSION | |
| 1.45pm | Integration with design—a restricted substances example The merits and challenges of providing designers and engineers with appropriate materials data and software tools within their familiar web browser, CAD, or PLM environments. The goal is to promote consistent, "right first time" materials decision-making. The need to account for restricted substances in design will be used as a particular example. |

| 2.15pm | Composite information management How can we meet the complex challenge of managing and applying composite information—particularly in aerospace and similar environments? As well as being of interest to engineers who deal with composites, this talk and demonstration will demonstrate an effective approach to implementing best practice materials information management. |

| 2.45pm | Implementing eco design We will demonstrate new data and tools that help designers to minimize the environmental footprint of products during design, when changes cost least and have maximum impact. You will see the benefits of integrating these capabilities with materials and process selection, and with CAD |
