Avoid restricted substances when screening materials

Join this web seminar on Wednesday, May 24 to find out how you can consider restricted substances early in the design and development process using the CES Selector software.

Typically restricted substances are considered at the end of the product development cycle, once the production material has been specified, a supplier chosen, and your Product Steward is looking at compliance. However, identifying non-compliance at this late stage leads to last minute changes to materials/suppliers or the need to apply for exceptions.

Analyzing restricted substance risk

In this web seminar we will see how using the CES Selector software, now including new risk indicators relating to restricted substances for the full range of engineering materials, can help.

  • Don’t get caught out by restricted substances. Consider them alongside other properties and cost at the material selection stage.
  • Identify which constituents are responsible for the risk, so you can find alternatives or ask suppliers the correct questions.
  • Understand what materials are impacted and how the risks are expected to change in the future.
