About the presenters

Dr Arthur FairfullDr Arthur Fairfull, Product Director—Materials Strategy & PLM Integration, has been deeply involved with strategy, development, and implementation relating to materials information technology for over 25 years, working with three generations of materials software technology. His first company, Matsel Systems Ltd (a subsidiary of Elsevier Science Publishers), offered desktop and online materials selection software in the days before the Internet! Arthur held a variety of positions at MSC Software, latterly as Director in Simulation Data Management. Joining Granta in 2006, he now drives Granta's PLM integration initiatives. He has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Glasgow University and a PhD in composite materials from the University of Liverpool.

Dr Peter ChernsDr Peter Cherns, Product Manager for Enterprise Tools at Granta Design, has a particular focus on the MI:Materials Gateway and Web Platform product lines. He completed a PhD in III-V semiconductor heterostructures at the University of Cambridge before working in offline characterization at the CEA in Grenoble. Since joining Granta in 2010, he worked for five years as an Implementation Consultant running projects with customers across the Aerospace, Defence, Automotive and Consumer Electronics sectors.
