Key Benefits
All of your materials data in one, searchable, resource—save time finding data
Avoid lost data and duplication of tests, re-use corporate materials knowledge
Cost-effective and efficient multi-user access access to data from leading reference sources—StahlDat SX and MI-21
Enable selection and comparison of steels
Control—guarantee data security, ensure the right data is delivered to the right people, and manage changing data effectively
Eliminate errors by providing data to engineers and designers on their desktop, in the format that they require
What is the GRANTA MI:Steels Package?
A package of GRANTA MI modules for the efficient management of your in-house materials data, integrated with reference data for steels from leading industry sources.
You can build a single system, configured to your needs, to manage all of your proprietary materials data—from testing, QA, research, and beyond. Within the same system you can gain efficient multi-user access to leading sources of steels data—StahlDat and MI-21. Use this integrated information resource to control and analyze your own data, or to select and compare steels for engineering applications. All of this information can be accessed and applied from the engineering desktop—via web browser or from within your chosen CAD or CAE application.

What is in the MI:Steels package?
Software—the core MI:Data Management Package:
| MI:Server | This robust, scalable materials database system can be populated with your in-house materials data and with your choice of external reference information. |
| MI:Viewer | The core web browser-based user interface with tools to browse, query, report on, edit, import and export data to engineering software. |
| MI:Toolbox | Windows application supporting higher-intensity import, export, and processing tasks. |
Data—integrated access to the following leading data sources:
| StahlDat SX | European steel standards from the Stahl-Eisen-Liste plus temperature-dependent properties for many steels in this list. |
| MI-21 | Chemical, mechanical and physical properties of steels from The Welding Institute (TWI) and the World Metal Index (WMI). |
| MaterialUniverse | Data on over 3,000 generic materials types (including steels) from Granta—enables broad-based comparisons between materials options. |
Additional options to consider
MI:Materials Gateway—if you need to access and apply data from within CAD, CAE and other third-party software.
MI:Substitute—find a replacement material to address issues such as obsolescence, supplier change, or regulation.
MI:Optimize—if you need tools to make better, more consistent materials choices, optimizing performance and cost.
You can configure a system to meet your specific needs using the full range of GRANTA MI system modules and compatible data »
