DescriptionSenvol

The Senvol Database™, the first and most comprehensive database of Additive Manufacturing (AM) machines and materials, is available through Granta materials software.

There are hundreds of industrial AM machines and materials. New products come to market weekly. Picking the best option for a manufacturing or research project is a tough call and a wrong direction can be costly. The Senvol Database™ details over 550 AM machines and over 700 compatible materials. Within Granta software, you can search and compare materials based on properties, type, or compatible machines. Identify and compare machines based on supported processes, manufacturer, required part size, cost, or compatible materials (and their properties). Quickly focus on the most likely routes to achieve project goals, save time and get new ideas as you research AM options.

Plotting property data for AM materials from the Senvol Database™ using the CES Selector™ software helps to understand materials options and focus on the best choice.

  • Manufacturer
  • Price range
  • Process
  • Compatible material types
  • Build envelope size

Details of over 700 compatible materials:

  • Information on material type and similar materials
  • Material properties of AM materials
  • Effect of machine configuration and post-processing
  • Compatible machines
  • Machine specifications (size, weight, voltage etc.)

Using the Senvol Database™ with Granta software

GRANTA MI enables companies to create a single, easily-accessible ‘gold source’ for all corporate materials data, including AM data—both proprietary IP and data from trusted reference sources. Now the Senvol Database™ is integrated into this system, making it instantly accessible and searchable for scientists and engineers within their routine workflow.

CES Selector is an easy-to-use PC tool to plot, compare, and select using materials data. Its powerful charting tools can analyze and present data from the Senvol Database™—e.g., quickly generating a plot to compare the properties of all Ti-6AL-4V materials compatible with a specific machine. Systematic selection features filter machine and material options based on their properties and help you to assess trade-offs in order to identify candidate machines and materials.
