Honeywell chooses CES

Cambridge, October 10, 2002

Material selection is critical where components operate under extreme service conditions. Typical examples are the high-tech aerospace starters, valves and actuators developed and produced by Honeywell.

Honeywell realized that a tool was required to store and distribute material property data. This tool should also assist the engineer in selecting the optimum material for a specific application, to visualize the effects of changes in the environment and to balance conflicting constraints such as cost and performance.

To satisfy this need, Honeywell's engineering sciences group has expanded their use of Granta's CES software so that it is now available to all the materials engineers and key analysts and designers from their individual PCs.

Each engineer can assess and analyze the information in the Honeywell database quickly and easily and be confident that the data is consistent over the group.
