Cambridge engineering software company Granta Design has announced details of its on-going expansion plans. Granta will officially open its new extended offices at Rustat House (Clifton Road, Cambridge) on July 15th. Continued growth in software sales and the start of new projects mean that Granta is actively recruiting. The company expects to grow its current staff of seventy by around 20% over the next year.

“Granta’s latest financial year finished on June 30th,” said Chief Operating Officer Dr Patrick Coulter. “We have achieved significant, profitable, revenue growth for the sixth straight year. This puts us in a great position to expand our team in a sustainable manner. New projects in emerging areas such as eco design mean that we have plenty of interesting work to do. We aim to continue growing the business as we always have – by focusing on and meeting the needs of our customers. We thank them for their continued support.”

Granta is a spin-off from the Cambridge University Engineering Department. The company’s software is used by world-leading engineering enterprises to manage and apply technical data about engineering materials (e.g., metals, plastics, composites, and ceramics). Granta software helps these organizations to design products that perform better and are safer, cheaper, and less environmentally damaging. Granta also has a thriving educational business, providing resources that are used to teach the next generation of engineers at over 700 universities and colleges worldwide. Granta customers include NASA, Rolls-Royce, Boeing, Emerson Electric, GE, Honeywell, EADS Astrium, and TRW Automotive.

Granta’s current recruitment drive includes posts for software developers, materials specialists, and sales and marketing staff. The company aims to provide a flexible, stimulating, and friendly work environment. Jobs are available both for recent graduates (in software engineering, science, or engineering disciplines) and for more experienced staff.
