WebEx
Granta uses WebEx to support online seminars and meetings.
WebEx runs via your web browser and should work well with most standard
personal computer system setups.
Ensuring that you are correctly configured
Before logging into a meeting,
it is worth checking that your computer is correctly configured by
visiting:
http://support.webex.com/support/support-overview.html
...and clicking on "Test
your browser and operating
system by joining a test meeting".
Granta recommends that
you do this at least 15 minutes prior to the meeting since, depending
on your computer, it may take a few minutes to download the necessary
WebEx components.
Joining a meeting
Once you have registered to join a Granta meeting, you will receive
an email providing the meeting details.
To join, simply click on the link provided in the email. Granta recommends
that you do this 2-3 minutes before the meeting is due to start.
You will be taken to the entry page for the meeting. Click "Join now".
Teleconferencing
The audio portion of WebEx meetings with multiple recipients is normally
provided via a teleconference number. The WebEx service provides local
dial-in numbers worldwide.
Dial-in numbers will be included in the
email and will also appear on the screen when you join the meeting.
In addition to this phone number, you will need the meeting number
provided in the email to connect to the call. Simply dial the phone
number and follow the instructions.
Troubleshooting
If you have problems joining a WebEx meeting or dialling into the conference
call, use the "chat" facility within WebEx (if you can) to ask the
meeting moderator for help, or phone Granta on +44 1223 518895.
