Granta, ASM Present Medical Device Solutions at Cleveland Summit
Granta presented at the Materials, Medicine,
and Nanotechnology Summit at the Cleveland Clinic, demonstrating
its solution for materials information management in medical
device design and offering the first glimpse of a valuable
new data resource for medical device applications.
The conference was
hosted by the Cleveland Clinic, ASM International, and the Nano-Network.
Granta's Dr Cebon joined a panel of eminent speakers to present
on the subject of Surface coatings and finishing techniques
to enhance functional properties such as wear, corrosion resistance
and enhanced biocompatibility. Granta's GRANTA MI technology
helps materials and device designers to manage and apply materials
property and process information in pursuit of new and improved
products.
Dr Cebon also teamed up with Granta's partners at
ASM International to give the first public demonstration of the
new Materials for Medical Devices Database. This online reference,
which will be available to medical device organizations shortly,
provides authoritative biological response data that includes
degradation rates, materials properties, biocompatibility issues
and surface treatment methods.
