We asked our software team for the reasons why they enjoy developing software at Granta. This is what they said:

1. We work alongside smart people—e.g., the testers at Granta and the material experts using our software
2. We have flexible hours in a light, airy, office
3. Our projects are fast-growing, challenging, and demanding
4. We like to learn to improve and share knowledge with each other
5. We write unit tests, use source control, run continuous builds, develop in short iterations, and have fixed-in-time releases
6. We have fast machines, dual monitors, and an MSDN subscription for access to the latest technologies
7. We love the espresso machine, decent filter coffee and tea, and regular company lunches
8. We work in central Cambridge but have ample parking for cars and bikes
