This is an outstanding opportunity to play a central role in the development of an integrated portfolio of products, within a successful specialist software company. Granta develops software system related to materials science and engineering—for industries that include aerospace & defence, medical devices, consumer and industrial equipment, and education—and for tasks that include material property data management for jet engines, material selection for life-enhancing medical technology, cost-reduction across global corporations, and, increasingly, eco-design for energy and CO₂ reduction.

The role:

You will become part of our software engineering team, which is small enough that your contribution will be important and noticed.  You will work on our flagship product—GRANTA MI—the leading system for materials information management. This includes high-end, server-based, Microsoft .Net applications, for corporate intranets and the Web; and advanced searching, document indexing and data management technologies.

The ideal candidate:

We are looking for an experienced engineer to become a long-term team member, sharing our passion to see the company fulfil its enormous potential. You should have experience with all of the following:

• Object-oriented programming in C#
• Developing client-server .NET applications
• Working with Microsoft .NET technologies
• Relational databases and SQL in particular SQL Server

You should also:

• Have a first class or upper second class honours degree in computer science, engineering, science, or maths from a recognised university (or overseas equivalent)
• Be self-motivated, technically accomplished, a team-worker, and have a customer-focus
