Quality Assurance Engineer
This position is no longer available, but contact Granta if you have an interest in similar positions.
Granta Design leads the materials information technology market, experiencing year-on-year growth over the past 10 years with a unique product and great reputation. NASA, Rolls Royce, Intel and many other industry leaders world-wide are using our software to go higher, lighter and greener.
We are an ever-expanding, highly motivated team searching for a talented, proactive Quality Assurance Engineer who is able to think creatively and be self-managing.
What you’ll be doing
- You will become part of our small, but growing, quality assurance team, working directly with our product managers and development teams to ensure that software is delivered to specification.
- You will devise and execute manual and automated tests for all aspects of our QA program, including functional, performance and load testing.
- You will be assuring the quality of our web and PC-based software engineering projects. These are primarily high-end, server-based, Microsoft .Net applications, for corporate intranets and the Web; and advanced searching, document indexing and data management technologies
About you
If you like to break stuff and understand why it broke; enjoy starting with only the vaguest description of a bug and doing what it takes to get it properly defined for a fix; relish cutting through the tangled web of a specification to get to the bottom of what was actually done; are passionate about delivering quality products, smart, creative and energetic, then you might be exactly the person that we are looking for!
We need someone who is motivated, not only by delivering software to specification but who can think like our users. You will be someone who continuously and proactively aims to improve the quality processes around our software.
Previous experience of testing and/or developing software is an advantage, but not a requirement. An understanding of engineering processes and/or the user of technical software is essential.
An honours degree (most likely in an engineering or scientific discipline) or equivalent experience is essential. Have a desire to succeed
Granta Design is successful, focused, trusted, intelligent, and a great place to work. If you're bright, enthusiastic, committed, and like the look of Granta, send us your CV/resume and a cover letter explaining what you are looking for. We are growing and new opportunities are always opening up—some of them may not even be on the website yet.
