Product Support Specialist

Granta Design leads the materials information technology market, experiencing year-on-year growth over the past 10 years with a unique product and great reputation. NASA, Rolls Royce, Intel and many other industry leaders world-wide are using our software to go higher, lighter and greener.
We are searching for a Product Support Specialist who can work with our existing support team to continue to provide an excellent level of technical support to our international customer base. Our product suite comprises GRANTA MI, the leading system for materials information management, CES Selector and CES Edupack, the world-leading packages for rational material selection both in industry and education.
What you’ll be doing:
You will become a key member of the support team interacting with customers and the Granta development team to troubleshoot and resolve issues and will be involved in activities including:
- Providing remote technical application support to customers via telephone or remote systems access
- Document and distribute information on known issues, FAQs and software patches
- Engaging proactively with customers to improve their experience of the software
- Maintaining support resources for internal and external use
About You
We are looking for a long-term team member who will share our passion to see the company fulfill its enormous potential.
You will definitely:
- Have experience of providing front line customer support
- Have excellent communication skills
You will ideally:
- Have cross-platform knowledge of Windows, 32 and 64 bit (in particular Server OS)
- Have experience of Internet Information Services and SQL Server
- Be familiar with n-tier enterprise level software installations
- Have an honours degree from a recognised university (or overseas equivalent)
You should also:
- Be self-motivated, detail-oriented and a team-worker
- Be able to demonstrate problem-solving skills
- Be able to communicate technically complex concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing
