Marketing Assistant & Events Coordinator

This position is no longer available, but contact Granta if you have an interest in similar positions.

Granta Design is a rapidly growing engineering software company. We are a spin-off from Cambridge University and a world-leader in our field. We now employ around 70 people at our Cambridge headquarters, and are looking for a Marketing Assistant and Events Coordinator to join our expanding team.

What you will be doing:

You will manage Granta's marketing events and provide administrative support for our marketing campaigns and other activities.

Your role will include:

  • Coordinating arrangements for Granta's events (seminars and scientific symposia)—identifying and booking venues, arranging catering and social program, travel & accommodation, delegate registration, production of meeting materials...
  • Organizing Granta's exhibition booths at worldwide conferences (the role will not normally involve attendance at these conferences)
  • Set up and registration for Granta's regular web seminars
  • Managing contacts from Granta's marketing activities, ensuring that these leads are entered into our contact management system and distributed appropriately
  • Tracking and reporting on leads and marketing expenses
  • Distribution of marketing mailings, e-mailings, and newsletters
  • Supporting the Granta sales team with supplies of marketing materials
  • Maintaining Granta's public relations database and distributing press releases

About you

You definitely:

  • Are extremely well-organised, with excellent attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Are energetic, committed, and enthusiastic
  • Have good communication skills and work well in teams
  • Are IT-literate, preferably including experience using Microsoft Excel

You probably:

  • Have a degree or other higher-level qualification
  • Have some experience of organizing events or managing projects—this could be gained though a previous job, or as part of your education or hobbies
  • Have an interest in a career in marketing or some related business activity—a marketing or business-related qualification would be an advantage

Granta Design is successful, focused, trusted, intelligent, and a great place to work. If you're bright, enthusiastic, committed, and like the look of Granta, send us your CV/resume and a cover letter explaining what you are looking for. We are growing and new opportunities are always opening up—some of them may not even be on the website yet.
