Software Test Engineer—MI:Materials Gateway

We are searching for a talented Software Test Engineer to maintain and improve the quality of our innovative GRANTA MI:Materials Gateway platform, which links GRANTA MI, the leading system for materials information management, to the Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems used by hundreds of thousands of designers and analysts worldwide.
What you’ll be doing:
You will become part of our growing, highly motivated QA team, supporting development of our MI:Materials Gateway product line
- Contributing to the agile planning process for MI:Materials Gateway development
- Driving the automation strategy for MI:Materials Gateway testing
- Devising and executing functional tests for all components of the MI:Materials Gateway
- Measuring the performance of MI:Materials Gateway products using a range of techniques including benchmarking and load testing
About You
We are looking for a long-term team member who will share our passion to see the company fulfil its enormous potential. Knowledge and experience in the materials domain is very welcome but not a requirement for this position.
You will definitely:
- Have experience of testing Javascript Rich Internet applications
- Have a good knowledge of commercial software quality practices
You will ideally:
- Have experience of software testing in an agile environment
- Have worked with cross-platform development technologies on Windows and LINUX, 32 and 64 bit
- Have cross-platform test automation experience
- Be familiar with XML technologies, including WSDL, XSD, SOAP
- Have experience of one or more CAD / CAE / PLM applications
- Have an honours degree from a recognised university (or overseas equivalent)
You should also:
- Be self-motivated, detail-oriented and a team-worker
- Be able to demonstrate problem-solving skills
- Be able to communicate technically complex concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing
