Jobs for Materials Scientists and Mechanical Engineers

At Granta, we are the materials information technology experts. Our unique strength is in combining knowledge of materials, their properties, and their use in engineering, with the ability to design and make great software products and information resources.

Skills and knowledge in materials science and mechanical engineering are central to our activities. We have staff with first degrees, PhDs, and industry experience in these disciplines. They need to apply specialist materials or engineering knowledge in the following roles:

Product development - help to create products that meet the needs of our users, who are typically materials scientists, engineers, and designers
Research and maintenance of information resources - create and curate our specialist reference data resources, apply them to practical projects
Consultancy, project management, and service - understand customers' needs and work with them to specify, implement, and apply solutions based on Granta technology
Product marketing - undertake market research and industry networking, understand customer requirements, specify and test products, promote and demonstrate products to potential clients, and then support customers
Sales and account management - understand customer needs, find a solution that meets those needs, and then work with customers to ensure satisfaction
