Materials Education Consultant:
Engineering and Design

Granta's main education resource, CES EduPack, is very well-known and is currently used by universities and colleges worldwide across undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in engineering, design, and science subjects.

What you will be doing:

  • Working closely with Granta’s founders, Professors Mike Ashby and David Cebon, and other leading academics to continue developing and enhancing our engineering and design related education resources.  This will include writing tutorials, white papers describing resource content and use, conference presentations, and publications.
  • Supporting the use of Granta’s teaching resources at universities and colleges around the world.  This means developing working relationships with senior and junior staff, site visits and follow-up support, as well as seeking feedback from users to guide further development.
  • Organizing and delivering training courses for academics on the use of CES EduPack in teaching and research, with a particular focus on sustainability and eco design or engineering and design teaching.
  • Speaking at conferences about materials, engineering, and design education.
  • Writing papers related to materials education.
  • Some travel will be necessary.

About You

You should definitely:

  • Have a PhD in an Engineering, Design or Science related subject.
  • Have some university level teaching experience.
  • Have a passion for technology and education excellence.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and exceed expectations.

You probably:

  • Have postdoctoral experience
  • Have published in relevant journals
  • Have used CES EduPack in your teaching
