Eco Software Engineers (C#)
This position is no longer available, but contact Granta if you have an interest in similar positions.
Granta Design leads the materials information technology market, experiencing year-on-year growth over the past 10 years with a unique product and great reputation. Demand for our eco software is rapidly increasing and we have a need for software engineers to join our team to develop solutions further.
The role will focus on the development of Granta's eco design solution that enables companies to address two main environmental challenges:
- Restricted substance regulations;
- Eco design to meet objectives such as reduced energy or carbon footprint.
Our eco design solution is being developed in collaboration with the Environmental Materials Information Technology (EMIT) Consortium, which includes leading engineering organisations such as Rolls Royce, NASA and Honeywell. Guidance and input from these companies is helping to shape Granta's software development activities and ensure we deliver high quality, practical tools for reducing product environmental impacts and managing environmental risks.
No previous knowledge of eco design or restricted substances is required although an interest and motivation for environmental sustainability issues would be desirable.
What you will be doing:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining software using Microsoft .Net framework (C#) for the web, server and desktop
- Working in a small team of talented software engineers, contributing your own ideas, skills, and experience.
You will definitely:
- Have experience of object-oriented programming in C#
- Have developed client-server or web service .NET applications
- Have a first class or upper second class honours degree in computer science, engineering, science, or maths from a recognised university (or overseas equivalent)
- Be self-motivated, technically accomplished, a team-worker, and have a customer-focus
You may:
- Have experience developing database backed software, particularly SQL Server
- Have developed interactive web sites using ASP.net, JavaScript and jQuery
- Have an understanding of xml and xslt/xsl-fo
- Have knowledge and experience in the materials domain
Granta Design is successful, focused, trusted, intelligent, and a great place to work. Come and join us.
