  • On Tuesday, meet Granta on stand 3020 with Oakdene Hollins to discuss the circular economy.
  • On Wednesday, Granta will be on stand 2720  with IOM3, discussing the activities of the Sustainable Development & Construction Materials Groups.

Granta will be attending the Resource exhibition, discussing concepts such as the ‘circular economy’—a generic term for an economy that is regenerative by design—offering a practical alternative to the linear model of 'cradle to grave'. We are currently collaborating with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation as part of the LIFE+ Circular Economy Metrics project and as part of the FP7 Resource Conservative Manufacturing (ResCom) project to deliver the first metrics and tools for measuring circularity at the product and company levels. Granta have already pioneered approaches that enable the rapid assessment of environmental impacts and guide related decisions early in design, when changes matter most and cost least. This experience in design stage life cycle assessment and materials supply risk reporting will prove useful when collaborating on the development of both the metric and online calculation tool.

We will also be demonstrating tools to help you avoid or mitigate the business risks associated with critical materials and conflict minerals such as material supply disruptions, sudden material price escalations, or failure to meet the reporting requirements of legislation such as the Dodd-Frank Act. Granta's Critical Materials Data Module, which links elemental supply risk information to materials by composition, helps materials engineers and product sustainability experts in manufacturing organizations to perform a data-driven risk assessment for materials supply risks, and take early mitigating action to ensure business continuity and reduce long term costs of production.

Granta will also be found at the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) stand (Hall Stand R2720) and would be happy to discuss the activities of the Sustainable Development and Construction Materials Groups of IOM3
