Granta will be presenting a poster on "Software tools for critical materials risk reduction"

Critical materials (such as the rare earth elements) pose a significant challenge to product development and design organizations because disruptions to supply or price volatility can have major impacts on product price and production. Granta's poster summarizes how materials information technology can be applied to meet this challenge. Materials information technology is the combination of software tools and data resources focused on materials and their properties. Cambridge University spin-out Granta Design is the world-leader in this niche, working with many of the world’s top engineering enterprises in sectors including aerospace, energy, automotive, and consumer products. Here we outline some of the data and software tools that Granta has developed to help address critical materials risk, and some of the collaborative projects that Granta is engaged with to develop alternative materials with lower risk profiles.
