The Environmental Materials Information Technology (EMIT) Consortium
The Environmental Materials Information Technology (EMIT) Consortium is a collaborative project with members including Eurocopter, Emerson Electric, Rolls-Royce, EADS Astrium, Honeywell, NASA, and the UK’s National Physical Laboratory (NPL).
We invite other manufacturing or materials-oriented organizations to join us in developing data, systems, and software tools that will help to address the vital materials- and process-related issues that control environmental impact in the lifecycles of engineered products.
Two key focus areas are:
- Building consideration of restricted substances regulations (e.g., REACH) into your design process
- Enabling design for low energy usage and carbon footprint
