Campus-wide license

Do you want to use EduPack software as a standard educational resource throughout the curriculum of your department, school, college, or university? With a campus-wide license you can use the software for materials-specific courses (from introduction to advanced work) and also for courses in which materials and their properties are referenced, such as mechanics, structures, architecture, and design.

This is the most flexible licensing option — it is entirely up to you how students and teachers use the software. You may load it on as many PCs on your Campus teaching labs as you wish and you may provide copies for students to load on their own PCs. The license also entitles you to use all of our EduPack Editions.

The benefits of campus licensing are:

Teaching: Enables the university, faculty or school to use any Edition of the CES EduPack as a supporting resource or an integral component of undergraduate / postgraduate programmes.
Provides the university, faculty or school with the flexibility to use the CES EduPack on any campus PC and for any lecturer to have a copy on their home PC (student home PCs can also be included if required).
Encourages innovation in teaching, since it is much easier to try the software out in different courses.
Aids consistency and integration across your curriculum by providing a common resource that can help to create connections between courses.
Installation: A single network image can be created – reducing installation and testing time.
Administration: Simplified software licence agreement and ordering process. Software CDs for students can be provided by Granta or copied by the university.
Economic: Lower cost-per-user than standard license options.

This powerful new licensing option is increasingly popular — see, for example, the number of UK universities adopting campus-wide licenses.

Granta offers regular web training designed to support campus licenses. These short web meetings are designed to bring teachers who are new to the CES EduPack up-to-speed quickly, helping institutions to make the most of their campus licenses by expanding the use of CES EduPack within their curiculuum at no extra cost. Enrollment-based license

The enrollment based license is the standard option for EduPack users. Software is licensed for a specific course, or series of courses. The license enables each student on these courses to have their own copy of the software, while retaining the flexibility to use the software in computer labs for class-based teaching. Pricing is based on the number of students enrolled, rather than the numbers of PCs (‘seats’) on which the software is loaded. There are three main advantages of an enrollment-based license:

  • It is entirely up to you to decide how students use the software. You may load it on as many PCs in your department’s teaching labs as you wish and you may provide copies for the students to load on their own PCs.
  • With the software on their own PCs, students are encouraged to develop their interest in coursework outside class.
  • The cost-per-student is comparable to the cost of a textbook

Note: The enrollment-based license also provides a copy for each course instructor.

Lab license

This license allows the software to be installed on a specified number of instructor and teaching lab PCs - the minimum license number is ten.
