Session 3.
Sustainability—Supporting Social and Environmental Awareness with CES EduPack

with Prof. Mike Ashby

"Sustainability cannot be an 'add-on extra. Students need to learn how to integrate social and environmental awareness into every aspect of engineering, science, or design."—Prof. Mike Ashby

On Tuesday, Feb 25, join the third in our current webinar series with Prof. Mike Ashby (Emeritus Professor, Cambridge University Engineering Department and Granta founder) to see:

An overview of sustainable development concepts

What is in the new Sustainability Edition, including materials and their source nation, process, power generation systems, energy storage systems, details of regulations and legislation, and statistics covering people, governance, human rights, economy, and development by nation.

How the new resources help:

  • Encourage students to debate and discuss sustainability topics
  • Give students rapid access to the information they need, across all disciplines of study
  • Search and browse to find how different materials are used, and their environmental impact
  • Updated teaching resources to support eco design and integrating sustainability across the curricula

Project ideas you can use with your students:

  • Help students understand the social side of problems and their solutions: it is about more than engineering equations and optimally performing materials.
  • See ideas to promote skills such as teamwork, understanding stakeholder perspectives, refining a brief, research, and more...

Who should join the web seminar?

Professors, instructors, and teaching assistants looking to integrate sustainability topics alongside their teaching

Deans, undergraduate and graduate program coordinators, and department heads looking to introduce sustainability and eco-design alongside their engineering programs

Anyone using CES EduPack who would like to know more about the new Sustainability Edition..

This web seminar is not appropriate for students.
