Add your own records
It is now quick and easy to add materials to graphs and selection projects in CES EduPack. Just one mouse-click opens a simple form in which you can enter a material name and any properties that you wish to consider. This enables instant comparison of your own materials, or materials being studied in your course, to the full range of materials represented in CES EduPack. The feature is particularly useful for project work and for exercises or lectures that explore the position of materials or materials classes in materials space.
(Note, for more advanced database editing appropriate to advanced teaching and research projects, research licenses are available for the industrial CES Selector and CES Constructor software). |

Eco Audit Tool and eco data
Many universities and colleges now use CES EduPack to help introduce students to sustainability and eco design. The Eco Audit Tool helps to teach key eco design concepts, allowing students to explore the environmental impact of products and answer 'what if?' questions in exercises and project work. Enhancements include improved calculation of end-of-life scenarios and the ability for users to define the percentage of recycled content in the product.

Introduction to phase diagrams
Phase diagrams have been added to the records for all (19) applicable alloy systems in Level 2 of the Materials & Process Database and a new "Teach Yourself Phase Diagrams" guide is available for students to download. These help to provide students with an introduction to alloying and the influence of processing on microstructure and performance.
