The CES EduPack Sustainability & the Built Environment Edition enhances the full data set and Eco Audit Tool available in the Standard Edition with additional environmental properties, and then adds the information on construction materials and structural sections. The result is a comprehensive materials teaching resource for courses in Civil Engineering, Structures, the Built Environment, and for Architectural courses wishing to go into greater depth on engineering materials or environmental properties.
Key Features
Software for browsing, searching, and selecting materials, and the Eco Audit Tool.
Teaching resources—access to the Granta Teaching Resources website, with resources aimed to support teaching on architecture and civil engineering courses as well as PowerPoint lectures and exercises on 'Environmentally-informed materials choice'.
Your choice of instuctor's textbook:
Materials: Engineering,
Science, Processing, and Design or Materials and Design
The Level 1 & 2 Materials & Processes Database
- Provides an excellent introduction to standard engineering materials, including metals, ceramics, composites, and polymers
The Level 3 Eco Design Database
- The standard Level 3 database is enhanced with additional eco properties for each of its 3,750+ materials
- This makes it equivalent to the eco properties in the MaterialUniverse for industry (more information)
Architecture Database:
- 126 architectural materials
- Materials categorized into superstructure, enclosures, interiors, and services
- Datasheets contain images relating to architecture and the built environment
- Includes data on: mechanical properties in bending, hydro-thermal props, acoustic properties and durability in various atmospheres
- Science notes have been adapted to be more architecture-friendly (i.e., less fundamental materials science)
Structural Sections Database:
- Properties on >1800 structural sections
- Includes data on Aluminum, steel, GFRP and softwood beams
