Eco design tools
Granta's Eco Audit™ technology applies eco, materials, and process data to provide a rapid estimate of the energy and CO2 impact of a product over its lifecycle. You can quickly compare the environmental performance of alternative product designs. Available as an add-on tool for Granta's CES Selector™ PC software, combined with expert tools for in-depth graphical analysis of materials options. Also as a module of the GRANTA MI materials information management system, providing web browser access and integration with corporate materials data. Or apply it within CAD for complete integration with design.
With GRANTA MI:Restricted Substances your materials and substances data can be captured, managed, and linked to Granta's reference data on restricted substance legislation. You can browse and query this integrated information resource via a web browser. Reporting tools assess the restricted substance status of products, designs, and materials.
Software for materials selection helps to identify design alternatives. The result is an integrated system for risk assessment, risk management, and good design in the context of restricted substances. See below for information on CAD integration.
Materials and eco property data
We enable a rational response to eco challenges, underpinned by the right data:
GRANTA MI™ materials information management: capture all relevant materials data, whether from internal sources (such as testing and QA) or external references in a single, integrated system. Get web browser access across your company.
Eco Data Series: extensive property and process data enabling design for low carbon footprint and energy efficiency, plus a regularly-updated database of restricted substances legislation and its impact on substances, materials, and coatings.
Our GRANTA MI:Materials Gateway technology embeds eco assessment tools, restricted substance reporting, and access to materials and eco data within standard Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems from vendors such as Autodesk®, PTC®, and Siemens PLM®. Choose materials and processes to apply to parts within the CAD model. Based on those assignments, identify potential restricted substance problems or predict energy and CO2 over the product lifecycle. Change the model and get interactive feedback on resulting changes in the environmental impact.
A collaborative project building on Granta's eco software and data, with a goal of embedding eco design into routine engineering workflows.
