Support for CAD and CAE software

GRANTA MI is the leading system for materials information management in engineering enterprises, enabling companies to create a single, managed source for all of their corporate materials data and relevant materials reference data.

The unique MI:Materials Gateway technology allows materials data to be accessed and applied interactively from a window within the host CAD, CAE, or PLM software. Support is available for Abaqus/CAE, ANSYS Workbench, Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, Pro/ENGINEER and Creo Elements/Pro, and Teamcenter.

You can also export materials data from your corporate materials database in file formats for use in CAD or CAE applications. In addition to those listed above, GRANTA MI can support codes such as Nastran, Patran, PAM-CRASH, PAM-STAMP, RADIOSS, and SolidWorks. These GRANTA MI export capabilities can be extended easily to support your choice of engineering software.

Reference data

Granta provides an unrivalled catalog of materials property data that can be accessed and applied within your engineering software. GRANTA MI:Materials Gateway enables you to access and apply this data directly within your CAD or CAE system. Alternatively, you can browse and search the data via a web browser, then use the GRANTA MI exporter tools to transfer the data in the specific file format required by your simulation software. You will find data for:

  • Aerospace alloys—for example, the authoritative MMPDS and ESDU MMDH handbook data
  • Other metals—for example, the ASME BPV Code materials for the power and process industries
  • Plastics—CAMPUS Plastics provides data on over 5,000 plastics grades
  • Materials selection—Granta's MaterialUniverse gives comprehensive coverage of engineering materials, designed for selection and comparison
