In particular, two collaborative projects provide members with formal input to Granta development plans, as well as benefits of networking and early access to technology. These are: Software partnershipsGranta works with leading providers of engineering software to enable a comprehensive solution to the materials information needs of engineering enterprises. We aim to integrate with and support business-critical systems at these organizations. Our partners include vendors of CAE, CAD, FEA, and PDM software, such as ANSYS, PTC, SIMULIA, and Siemens PLM Software. More on our software partnerships >>> Data partnershipsGranta works with a broad range of materials and process data providers to ensure that our customers can acccess comprehensive reference information for applications such as aerospace, energy, and medical devices, and materials including metals, composites, and plastics. Partners include ASM International, MMPDS (formerly MIL-HDBK-5) , ESDU, CAMPUS, IDES, and Moldflow. Other collaborationsManudirect - Granta is a member of Manudirect, a European Nanotechnologies Project funded by the European Commission's Sixth Framework Programme. The project aims to provide industry with a new platform for manufacturing using a high productivity, high resolution, direct, one step laser sintering process. Granta helps to manage materials data relating to the project and to model the behavior of micro-managed materials. (Manudirect website). MI-21 - Granta technology supports the MI-21 project, developing a powerful information resource on metallic materials for manufacturing industry. More details... MatML - Initiated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), MatML (Materials Markup Language) is a standard for electronic exchange of materials property information. It is based on XML (eXtensible Markup Language) principles. Granta participates in the MatML Coordination Committee whichs steers the project. (MatML website). NIMS - Granta has a memorandum of understanding with Japan's National Institute of Materials Science and collaborates to further the usefulness of materials information in electronic format.
